Eduardo Cruz is a self taught artist working in a diverse set of mediums including sheet metal etching, acrylic painting and pyrography. He founded and leads the Chichimeca Aztec Music and Dance group Huehca Omoyecan.

BIO

Eduardo Cruz is a self taught artist that developed a unique and intricate style at a very young age . Most of his early works were just black ink but after several years he started exploring other mediums.
Some of his works today include: coated steel sheet metal etching, metal engravings and rock engravings, acrylic paint, and pyrography on various types of wood.

Eduardo’s work has been shown in the Portland area in both solo and group shows. He was a featured artist in the 2018 Portland Oregon Glean program and a member of the Portland Latino Artist Exchange.
He was a collaborator on the 2018 and art and altars curator on the 2019 dia de los muertos celebration in the Portland Art Museum.

Eduardo is also the founder and leader of the Art, Culture, ancestral Mexica, Chichimeca Aztec Music and Dance group Huehca Omeyocan. Founded and established with the ancestral values of the Anahuac civilization . Every year in Tilamook Oregon he organizes a ceremony to offer thanks to the ocean. This event is open to the public and attended by several Mexica and aztec dance groups from Oregon and Washington. He loves drumming and exploring other ancestral inspired instruments and sounds including flutes, whistles and ocarinas among many other instruments.

Today Eduardo continues to explore and experiment with even more mediums and salvaged materials to continue to learn, grow, expand and share his creativity as an artist as well as a performer with Oregon Communities and beyond.
